The Knewitz**** winery from Appenheim in Rheinhessen will be a member of the Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates (VDP) from 1 January 2022. This means that the federal association currently has 200 members.
The winery has been run by Tobias Knewitz since 2010, together with his wife Corina and his brother Björn since 2015. With the 25-hectare family farm, the Steinacker site is classified as a VDP Große Lage for the first time. In addition to the winery, the Knewitz brothers also continue their father's vine nursery. Johannes Hasselbach, chairman of the VDP.Rheinhessen, sees the inclusion as "emblematic of Rheinhessen's dynamic development".
