The Masters of Wine (MWs) of the 2020 and 2021 vintages have been inducted into the Institute of Masters of Wine (IMW) at the awards ceremony in London. Moritz Nikolaus Lüke MW, member of the management at importer Wein Wolf and former wein.plus editor, was the tenth German to be named Master of Wine. The other MWs are Claire Blackler MW, James Doidge MW, Tze Sam MW and Siobhan Turner MW from the UK, Susan Lin MW, Melissa Saunders MW, Kryss Speegle MW and Clare Tooley MW from the USA, Jacqueline Cole Blisson MW, Geoffrey Moss MW and Ross Wise MW from Canada, Beans Boughton MW (UAE), Heidi Iren Hansen MW (Norway), Annette Lacey MW (Australia), Gabriele Gorelli MW from Italy and Álvaro Ribalta MW from Spain.

New graduates Michael Henley MW and Sophie Parker-Thomson MW, who live in New Zealand, will not be admitted until November as they were unable to attend the ceremony in London.

Nick Clarke MW and Clive Coates MW, graduates of the class of 1970, were honoured on the anniversary of their 50th year of membership. Since 1953, 496 people have passed the Master of Wine examination.
