Richard Grosche, managing director of the VDP winery Karthäuserhof in Trier (Mosel), will leave the company in August 2021. He will move to the Geheimrat J. Wegeler winery in Oestrich-Winkel (Rheingau) as managing partner. He had joined the Kartäuserhof as late as in February 2020, together with Mathieu Kauffmann from the traditional Palatinate winery Reichsrat von Buhl (Deidesheim). Albert P. Behler, the owner of the estate, who lives in New York, has now made Kauffmann a partner and managing director. As of August, he will run the business together with Christoph Horbach, the commercial manager.

Furthermore, the world's eighth oldest winery has announced that it will expand the listed ensemble with new production areas by autumn 2023. In addition, the vine stock in its monopollage on the estate's own vineyard is to be completed with further plots.
