Spanish winery Marqués de Cáceres has collaborated with the Rotary Club Rhein-Erft for a fundraising project to train surgeons in Malawi, Africa. The Rioja-based bodega has put 10,000 limited-edition bottles of its Rueda Verdejo on sale with a label designed by 21-year-old student Ramona Shyan Shankar. One euro from each bottle sold goes to the club's project to train surgeons in Malawi. This East African country currently has the lowest number of surgeons in the world - there are only two trained surgeons per million inhabitants. Recently, Marqués de Cáceres was named the most influential Rioja DOCa producer this year.
