The Institute of Masters of Wine (IMW) has published the programme for the 10th International Symposium "A Taste for the Future". It will take place from 29 June to 2 July 2023 at the Rhein Main-Congress Center in Wiesbaden and is open to private wine lovers as well as professionals. In addition, the IMW has started ticket sales.

Among the approximately 30 international speakers and moderators in the coming year are, for example, Jancis Robinson, Richard Bampfield, Dr. Laura Catena (Bodega Catena Zapata, Argentina), Jean-Charles Boisset (Burgundy and California), Gaia Gaja (Piedmont) as well as scientists such as Prof. Reinhard Töpfer (Julius Kühn Institute, Siebeldingen) and Prof. Simone Loose (Geisenheim).

On the topical subject of "The future of lateral entrants in viticulture" on the third day of the symposium, Susie Barrie MW will conduct an interview with Hollywood actor John Malkovich. Together with his life partner Nicoletta Peyran, he bought the vineyard Les Quelles de la Coste in Vaucluse (Southern France) in 2008.

The IMW Symposium traditionally takes place every four years, the last event was in Spain in 2018. The 2022 symposium, originally planned for Adelaide, Australia, had to be postponed due to the pandemic.

The programme includes scientific lectures and discussions on the important trend topics of the international wine community as well as thematic tastings.
