Geisenheim University of Applied Sciences and the Geisenheim Alumni Association (VEG) have jointly collected 135,000 euros for the victims of the flood disaster in the Ahr Valley. For the donation project, the campaign "Geisenheim hilft!" (Geisenheim helps!) was specially launched in the summer of 2021. The money was used to support wine, garden and landscaping businesses in the Ahr valley that have been struggling for their existence since the flood.

However, the Geisenheimers did not only send financial help to the Ahr valley. Many students, alumni and members of the university helped out in the vineyards, gardens, cellars and businesses for months directly after the flood. Now the initiators of the relief action have met with those affected in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler for an exchange. The President of Geisenheim University, Prof. Reiner Schultz, thanked all those involved for their support.

The fundraising campaign "Geisenheim helps!" was also extended to help those affected by the Ukraine war.
