The Tuscan wine company Marchesi Frescobaldi takes over the Domaine Roy & fils in Oregon. The business in the heart of the Willamette Valley is one of the most renowned wineries in the region. The takeover is to be completed by the end of July. Domaine Roy & fils was founded in 2012 by Marc-André Roy and Jared Etzel. They thus continued the work of their fathers, who built up the Beaux Frères wine estate together in 1991. Marc-André Roy will remain with Domaine Roy & fils as a member of the board of directors and as a minority shareholder. The wine estate comprises about 16 hectares of vines in two growing areas. Pinot Noir (14 ha) and Chardonnay (2 ha) grow in the vineyards. They are cultivated completely organically and do not require artificial irrigation. Domaine Roy & fils and the Iron Filbert vineyard are located 45 minutes southwest of Portland in the Dundee Hills AVA appellation. The other property is located 25 minutes east of the winery in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA appellation.

"We have seized a unique opportunity to acquire the beautiful Domaine Roy & fils vineyard. Oregon is one of the best Pinot Noir growing regions in the world, and for us to now become part of this community is a dream come true," Lamberto Frescobaldi, president of Marchesi Frescobaldi, said of the purchase.
