For the first time, three German wine shops have been certified as partners of the organisation "Fair'n'Green". It is committed to sustainability and environmental protection in viticulture. The first certificates were awarded to Walter & Sohn from Munich, Wein Wolff from Leer and LöwWeine from Quierschied-Göttelborn.

With the certification, "the starting signal for a specialised trade group" has been given, "which in future will position itself jointly in the market and strengthen its commitment in the area of sustainability", it says in a press release. Close relationships with the wineries, attractive working conditions for the employees as well as comprehensive wine knowledge and competent advice are the cornerstones that make "Fair'n'Green" the good, sustainable specialised trade. This expertise is the foundation for many years of successful business management. It must be comprehensively proven in the "Fair'n'Green" partner certification. Part of the examination is also proof of sustainable action in energy efficiency, resource protection, social commitment, use of sustainable materials and reduction of CO2 emissions. The wine shops should also expand their range of ecologically and sustainably certified wines. The seal commits the retailers to continuous further development.

By extending the standard to the specialised trade, "Fair'n'Green" wants to strengthen the idea of sustainability in the entire wine industry. In the coming years, further partners from the wine industry are to be won for this purpose.
