The large champagne producer Vranken-Pommery wants to convert 175 of its 285 hectares of vineyards in Champagne to organic cultivation. A further 2,000 ha of vineyards belonging to companies of the group have already been converted or are currently being converted, the company announced. They are to be certified by 2023. In addition, the Quinta do Grifo winery in Portugal, which belongs to the Vranken-Pommery region, has recently started converting its 130 hectares.
Vranken Pommery has already received several industry awards for its commitment to sustainability. The company has almost 7,200 hectares worldwide, of which 2,550 are in France.
