The operations manager of the VDP Van Volxem (Saar) winery, Dominik Völk, is moving to the Karthäuserhof on the Ruwer in the same position. According to a statement by the VDP winery, Völk will be responsible for production, operations as well as the preservation and renovation of the historic buildings and outdoor facilities from 2022. An expansion of the wine cellar is also planned. First mentioned in 1321, the Kartäuserhof is considered the eighth oldest winery in the world.

The 40-year-old Dominik Völk worked for Van Volxem for 18 years. From January 2022, he will work together with Christoph Horbach as the commercial manager and Mathieu Kauffmann, who has been acting as partner and managing director for the Karthäuserhof since August 2021. Kauffmann moved from the traditional Palatinate winery Reichsrat von Buhl (Deidesheim) to the Saar at the beginning of 2020.

The previous Karthäuserhof managing director Richard Grosche joined the VDP winery Wegeler in Oestrich-Winkel (Rheingau) as managing partner a few weeks ago.
