Château Pétrus from Bordeaux has won a lawsuit in China against a company marketing a non-existent Petrus second wine under a Chinese brand name. The fake wine with a similar design was first discovered at the country's largest wine fair, the China Food and Drinks Fair. The ruling of the Supreme People's Court in Beijing confirmed two earlier court rulings that had ruled in favour of the Pomerol winery against the Wenzhou-based wine company for infringement of trademark rights. Château Pétrus had already had its Chinese name "伯萃斯" protected in 2014.

It is not the first time that the company from Wenzhou has been involved in lawsuits about counterfeit wine. A few years ago, it circulated counterfeit Château-Lafite Rothschild wines in China.
