The French investment company Artémis Domaines is negotiating with the de Montille family to purchase the Burgundy Château de Puligny-Montrachet. Artémis Domaines, owned by the family of billionaire François Pinault, includes the Bordeaux ChâteauLatour and other wine estates in Burgundy, the Rhone Valley, the Napa Valley and the Jacquesson champagne house.

The Montille family has owned Château de Puligny-Montrachet since 2012. According to a report in the British Branache magazine Just Drinks, François Pinault had already bought half a hectare of land at the château for around one million euros at the time. Reports of a possible sale of around 40 hectares of the Burgundy vineyard Bouchard Père & Fils***, which joined Artémis Domaines in 2022 through the takeover of Champagne Henriot, were denied by an Artémis spokesperson.

Artémis Domaines has often been criticised for its buying and selling policy in recent years. The Champagne Henriot wineries and the Chablis domainWilliam Fèvre****, which were taken over into the group in September 2022 through the merger with Maisons & Domaines Henriot, were sold again shortly afterwards.
