The Piedmontese winery Prunotto, owned by Antinori, has bought 3.4 hectares of vines for 8.7 million euros in the Ceretta vineyard in Serralunga d'Alba. The official MGA (Menzione geografica aggiuntiva) Ceretta, with 100 hectares, is one of the most important in the municipality of Serralunga d'Alba, where several top producers own vineyards. They include Giacomo Conterno, Elio Altare, Azelia, Luigi Baudana and Schiavenza. With the purchase, Prunotto wants to expand the production of his cru wines. The winery now cultivates 13 hectares of Barolo and 5.2 hectares of Barbaresco and produces the single vineyards Barolo Cerretta, Barolo Bussia, Barolo Bussia Vigna Colonnello, Barbaresco Bric Turot and the Barbaresco Secondine. The first wines from the new plots will come from the 2022 vintage.
