The wine club wineBANK wants to expand further in Germany. In addition to the eleven existing locations, five more are soon to be added in Erfurt, Heidelberg, Saarbrücken, the Lower Rhine and the Ahr. The wineBANK Mosel opened in Bernkastel-Kues just last year. "Our aim from the very beginning was to give wine enthusiasts a home. With the wineBANK network, we have created an independent platform for an international, vinophile community," says Christian Ress, founder of wineBANK.

According to Ress, 2,000 members and around 100,000 guests visit the wineBANK locations every year. Each member can store their own wines in their "home wineBANK" and also has access to all locations with their club card - usually 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. "The wineBANK is particularly interesting for people who enjoy wine and want to inspire guests in a prestigious environment," explained Ress.

A location with a lounge, cigar lounge, meeting room and 40-metre-long vaulted cellar is being created on the historic Bismarckplatz in Heidelberg. This is the second location designed by architect Thomas Velten (photo right with Christian Ress), who has been the co-operator of wineBANK in Baden for several years.

After the Moselle, the Ahr now also has its own wineBANK in the wine cellar of the VDP Nelles winery. "After some tough years on the Ahr, things are making noticeable progress here," says Christian Ress. "With the wineBANK Ahr, we also want to help bring more wine and gourmet tourists back to the region."
