Fair organiser Veronafiere has decided to cancel the 54th Vinitaly and postpone it to 10-13 April 2022. "The continuing uncertainties within the national and international Corona scenario and the extended closures have prompted us to do so," said Maurizio Danese, president of Veronafiere. The decision had been coordinated with the organisations and associations from the viticulture and agriculture sector.

However, the Wine Spectator's best 100 wines awards, organised with the "Operawine" event, will take place in Verona on 19-20 June. According to the organisers, the event will focus on the revitalisation of the wine sector and bring together the trade press with the national and international wine industry. As a new format, Veronafiere plans to organise "Vinitaly - Special Edition" from 16 to 18 October 2021. With the pure B2B orientation, the national and international business is to be stimulated.
