The Chilean winery Viña Montes concluded 2017 as its most successful business year in exports to Germany. According to its own information, the value and volume of the wines rose by 30 per cent compared to the previous year, thus achieving a record result since the start of business in Germany in 1994.

The main reason for this growth is the Cabernet Sauvignon of the house. This variety is one of the most popular grape varieties from Chile. According to the Montes figures, the German wine trade has recorded an increase in volume of 84 percent and an increase in value of 83 percent.

Of the three icon wines Montes Alpha M, Montes Folly and Montes Purple Angel, a total of 69 percent more than in 2016 were sold in the more than 100 export countries in 2017.
