The Swedish Viva Group becomes Germany's second largest online wine retailer through the takeover of Vicampo. So far, Wine in Black and Vinexus already belonged to the portfolio of the Scandinavians. Altogether, the Viva Ecom Group, as the holding company of the three German companies, expects an annual turnover of between 80 and 100 million euros in 2021. For comparison: The online platform Hawesko.de announced a turnover of 126 million euro for 2020. Interesting detail: Vicampo and Wine in Black emerged in 2011 from a joint project whose founders subsequently parted ways. According to the new owners, the strong increase in demand in online wine trade promises "further profitable growth". Due to the new market power of the Viva Wine Group, which is also present in Finland, Norway, Great Britain and China and is the largest importer of wine and spirits in Scandinavia, lower purchase prices are targeted.
