The VDP vineyard St. Antony in Nierstein (Rheinhessen) has presented a 2019 Rosé called "Love & Hope", whose label depicts a work by the world-famous street art artist Banksy. It shows the "Girl with Balloon", which he already created in 2005 and is now world-famous. The motif could also be seen on his painting "Love is in the bin", which was shredded during an auction in 2018.

"It is often the chance encounters that have a lasting effect on our lives - whether in our private or business environment. It was such a coincidence that we were able to present the Love & Hope Rosé together with Banksy," says Dirk Würtz, managing partner of the VDP winery.

As early as 2019, this Banksy motif was licensed by the Swedish wine importer Mission Wines & Spirits for the label of a red wine from the Sicilian tenute Orestiadi. For this purpose, the importer had concluded a contract with the British artist's lawyers. For many years the winery has been supporting the Italian museum Fondazione Orestiadi, which has acquired several early works by Banksy.

The limited edition of the organic wine costs 9.90 euros and is available in the winery with immediate effect.
