The Sommelier Union Germany has announced that the resignation of its president Peer F. Holm "will be dealt with intensively in the coming weeks". In a statement it says that "the reasons he gave for his resignation weigh heavily". The Sommelier-Union Germany, however, stands for "cosmopolitanism, respect and tolerance".
Holm had resigned because several women in his environment accused him of "misconduct". The Sommelier Union went on to say: "We expect our members and everyone who works on our behalf to act according to these principles. Until the next regular board election next year, the current board members Marc Almert, Christian Frens, Philipp Künemund and Michael Wangler would be jointly responsible for the business of the Sommelier Union Germany.
