Samsung has unveiled an AI-assisted robot that fills wine from bottles into glasses at its Computer Electonic Show (CES) press conference in Las Vegas. "The 'Bot Handy' is an extension of your hands in the kitchen, living room or anywhere an extra hand becomes necessary," explained Sebastian Seung, president of Samsung Research. He said the Bot Handy's sensors, combined with artificial intelligence, enable it to recognise different objects that it grasps and moves - whether half-full wine bottles, wine glasses, plates or a basket of fruit. During the demonstration at the fair, it poured just the right amount of red wine into the glass and then lifted the glass by the stem to simulate a "cheers". Whether and when the robot will go on sale is currently still open.
