Messe Düsseldorf is postponing ProWein to 15 to 17 May 2022. In view of the current covid infection and rapidly rising infection figures, the event is no longer tenable for the planned period from 27 to 29 March 2022, the trade fair company announced. The event series "ProWein goes city", which is aimed at private wine lovers, the Düsseldorf gastronomy and international vintners, will also be postponed to the new ProWein date. This move had already been expected in the wine industry (wein.plus reported).

Wolfram N. Diener, CEO of Messe Düsseldorf, emphasises the support from the industry for the new date: "The tenor of our exhibitors is: we want and need ProWein - and at a time that promises the greatest possible prospects of success. Together with the partners and associations involved, we see early summer as the ideal time for this." Those responsible for ProWein expect a weakened infection level at this time and more people able to enter and participate. "The exhibiting companies as well as the visitors will thus be able to go about their business in a situation significantly less affected by Covid-19," explained Diener.
