A bottle of Penfolds Grange 1951 was auctioned on Sunday for the new record price of 142,131 Australian dollars (88,000 euros). The special thing about this bottle of the first vintage of the Grange is not only its rarity. It is believed that there are 35 bottles left, 15 of which are in complete vintage collections. This particular bottle was signed and personally re-corked in August 1988 by the legendary cellar master Max Schubert, who secretly produced the Grange - against the instructions of his superiors. Experts praised the bottle as a "unicorn of a wine in perfect condition".
