The Vendemmia d'Artista series from Ornellaia ***** 2021 with labels by artist Marinella Senatore will be auctioned at Sotheby's from 22 May to 5 June. The proceeds will support the Mind's Eye project of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation. Mind's Eye enables blind and visually impaired people to experience art through special tours.
The 2021 vintage brings the 16th edition of artist-designed bottles and sculptures for Ornellaia, entitled "La Generosità" (Generosity). The theme is the pride and devotion of the people who "combine with the energy of the natural elements that prevail here, such as the sea, wind and stars, to create Ornellaia", says Senatore. For the only nine-litre Salmanazar of the vintage, she added one of her light installations with the message 'I contain multitudes', a quote from the American poet Walt Whitman, which also stands for her work. These and other large bottles such as Imperialés, double magnums and magnums signed by the artist will be auctioned.
