The Corona crisis continues to strongly influence the international wine industry. According to Messe Düsseldorf as organiser, ProWine São Paulo - originally planned for 20 to 22 October 2020 - will be postponed until next year.

Although larger events are likely to take place again in São Paulo from mid-October, the unclear regulations on the part of the government are too great a factor of uncertainty to be able to reliably plan ProWine, according to the trade fair company. Therefore, together with the two cooperation partners Emme Brasil and Inner Group, they have decided to postpone the event to October 2021 for safety's sake.

According to Messe Düsseldorf, the situation is different in China, where ProWine in Shanghai can take place as planned from 10 to 12 November 2020. In contrast to Brazil, there are clear guidelines and rules at the Shanghai location according to which events may be held, the company informs. A number of large international pavilion organisers, including the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) in cooperation with the German Wine Institute (DWI), have already registered.

The next ProWein in Düsseldorf will take place in March 2021, according to the trade fair company. A comprehensive hygiene concept tailored to the specific requirements of ProWein is currently being developed. Other dates in the ProWein calendar are ProWine in Singapore from 2 to 5 March 2021 and ProWine in Hong Kong from 12 to 14 May 2021.
