The renowned VDP vineyard Witwe Dr. H. Thanisch Erben Müller-Burggraeff in Bernkastel-Kues (Mosel) has been taken over by the major wine producer Peter Mertes Familienweingüter.

The company, previously owned by the married couple Barbara Rundquist-Müller and Erik Rundquist, cultivates seven hectares of vineyards in the best locations of the Moselle, including the Berncasteler Doctor. The production amounts to about 50,000 bottles per vintage, which is the responsibility of plant manager Max Ferger. In the Bernkasteler district of Andel, the owners have only recently built a modernly designed company building with a vinotheque, which was also purchased by the Peter Mertes owner family Willkomm. Nothing was revealed about the purchase price.
