The Premier-Cru-Bordeaux-Château Latour has entered into a partnership with luxury watch manufacturer Girard-Perregaux. The Swiss company produced 18 examples of the 1966 Château Latour Edition, the dial of which comes from a pebble from one of Château Latour's vineyards. According to Girard-Perregaux, each dial took 30 hours to complete. Craftsmen had to reduce the stones to a thickness of 0.45 millimetres and mount them on a brass base before the rest of the clock could be assembled. To complement the yellow tones of the vineyard pebbles, the dial has a rose gold colour. The back of the watch, set with sapphires, is engraved with the Château Latour logo.
According to the Girard-Perregaux website, the model will only be available to private guests of Château Latour and the Villa Girard-Perregaux in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the manufactory's headquarters. At the same time, however, a non-binding recommended retail price of around 35,000 euros is stated.
