The Kleine Kalmit near Ilbesheim has been officially awarded the title of "most beautiful view of wine 2020" in the Palatinate by the Palatine Wine Queen Anna-Maria Löffler and Monika Reule, Managing Director of the German Wine Institute (DWI). To this end, they unveiled a three meter high stele by the artist Ulrich Schreiber made of Corten steel.

The vineyard had been voted for in an online poll by the DWI with more than 10,000 participants. It offers a wide view in one direction over the vineyards to the Haardtrand and the Palatinate Forest. On the other side, on a clear day, the view extends as far as the Rhine plain and the Odenwald. In addition, the Kleine Kalmit is considered one of the best sites in the Palatinate.

In 2020, a total of 48 proposals from the 13 growing areas were up for selection for the competition. They were submitted to the DWI for online voting by the regional regional wine advertisers.
