The competition does not focus on professional craftsmanship, but exclusively on fun and enthusiasm for the wines from the German growing regions. According to DWI, the "Wine Champion 2018" is therefore suitable for all wine lovers who are not professionally involved in the subject. In the first round, a questionnaire has to be filled in, the deadline for entries is 5 April 2018, and attractive prizes will be offered at the final on 6 July 2018 at the "Kochwerk" in Frankfurt - and no participant will go away empty-handed. According to the DWI, the prizes to be won include a wine refrigerator and a weekend for two people.
