The former director of Sauternes-ChâteauGuiraud, Luc Planty, and his wife Clémence have taken over the long-neglected Château de Malle. Classified as a second growth, Château de Malle in Sauternes is also categorised as a monument of special historical importance. Built in the 17th century, the château is surrounded by six hectares of gardens in the Florentine style. The many statues symbolise work in the vineyard, mythological figures and characters from the Commedia dell'arte. The grounds are considered to be one of the most beautiful and prestigious in Bordeaux. However, it has been up for sale for several years.

Half of the approximately 56 hectares of vineyards are located in the Sauternes and Graves appellations. When revitalising the vineyards, Luc Planty wants to switch to organic cultivation. He wants to produce three wines as before: Château de Malle, Sauternes "Grand Cru Classé", the red Graves Château de Cardaillan, and the dry white Graves "M. de Malle". Clémence Planty wants to concentrate on promoting and utilising the tourism potential.
