During a burglary, a bottle of Château d'Yquem 1806 and six other 19th century wines were stolen from the vinotheque of the two-Michelin-starred restaurant Atrio. A total of 45 bottles were stolen, all of them "jewels", as co-owner and sommelier José Polo explains. The wine collection of the Atrio in Cáceres in western Spain is considered one of the best in the country, with almost 50,000 bottles. The Château d'Yquem 1806 was valued at 150,000 euros, but its value is priceless, according to Polo. "It would be difficult to sell these 45 very special bottles, which we have acquired with a lot of effort over 35 years, on the market. It's not just a question of money. This collection is part of our life, our history. The objects were stolen from us, but their history belongs to us."
