On Saturday 11 March at 6 pm, a selection of winegrowers from the Ahr will meet the national team of German winegrowers, known as the Weinelf. The charity match will take place at the Heimersheim Im Bülland sports field in Ahrweiler. The proceeds from the match will benefit the youth work of the Ahrweiler BC. Before the match, donations amounting to 10,000 euros will also be handed over to the association "Ahr - A wineregion needs Help for Rebuilding e.V".

The Ahr team consists of representatives from the wineries Kriechel, Kloster Marienthal, Lingen, Jungwinzer The Next Generation, Sonnenberg, Hostert, Sebastian and the winegrowers' cooperative Mayschoss. According to the chairman of Ahrwein e.V. Peter Kriechel, the players are still preparing in special training sessions.

While pre-games will take place at 2:30 and 4 pm, the Weinelf will visit the Mayschoss cooperative and meet the Ahrwinzer at the Nelles winery after the game. Both teams will be reinforced by former national player Carsten Ramelow for one half each.
