The Viennese wine fair VieVinum is to open its doors from 29 to 31 May 2021 despite the Corona restrictions. To this end, the organisers have drawn up a comprehensive hygiene concept, according to a press release issued by the organisers. According to this, online registration is obligatory, with trade visitors having priority. Only a limited number of tickets will be reserved for private wine lovers. For the exhibition stands there would be a more generous table arrangement with more space available. In addition, an air circulation system tested by experts will be in operation, there will be additional entrances and exits, more meeting rooms and many precautions to avoid crowds.

The aim of ÖWM is "to bring over 800 dealers, sommeliers and wine journalists from all over the world to Wien for the VieVinum". The main focus will be on the wine trade, "in order to maintain momentum in the most important export markets on the one hand and to achieve a further push in Austrian wine exports on the other. VieVinum is a key event for local winegrowers to expand their international network," said ÖWM Managing Director Chris Yorke.
