A vineyard of the Breitenbach winery from Frei-Laubersheim near
Bad Kreuznach (Nahe) has been deliberately destroyed by unknown persons. According to local media reports, a total of 320 vines were cut with a chainsaw just above the root. This destroyed more than eleven of 16 rows of the vineyard. The
winegrower has filed a complaint. According to the reports, he has no suspicion, but explicitly excludes winegrowers in direct competition. It takes at least three years before newly planted vines bear fruit for the
first time.
The
Bad Kreuznach Police Inspectorate is now looking for witnesses to the incident. It accepts tips under 0671-88 11 101 or by email to pibadkreuznach@polizei.rlp.de.
