Russian wine production increased by around six percent to 83 million litres in the first quarter of 2021. Viticulture is one of the most dynamically developing sectors of Russian agriculture. This is mainly due to the wine law that came into force last year, which guarantees state subsidies. In the past five years, around 25,000 hectares of vineyards were newly planted with subsidies of 83.3 million euros.
