Ruffino **** wants to become "the ultimate Tuscan wine house" and has now invested in Bolgheri for this goal. Ruffino has bought a total of 15 hectares of vineyards and is planning a state-of-the-art winery and visitor centre to be built in the coming years. The first wine from the 2023 vintage should be on the market in 2025. The red wine Rosso di Marte from Bolgheri is already in the range.

"Protecting the environment and promoting biodiversity through sustainable practices are at the heart of our philosophy. Investments in state-of-the-art technology will support ongoing experimentation with traditional and innovative winemaking techniques," said Sandro Sartor, president and CEO, at the launch. By 2025, Ruffino wants to certify all of its own vineyards, which supply around a quarter of its grapes, as organic. All purchased wines should at least have a sustainability certificate.

The Ruffino group owns eight vineyards in Tuscany as well as in Veneto and produces 30 million bottles with 40 different labels. 40 percent of the shares belong to the US group Constellation Brands.
