The luxury group LVMH has taken over the well-known rosé vineyard Château d'Esclans in the south of France. The purchase price is not known. The most famous wines of the estate are the rosé "Garrus", which costs about 100 Euro, and the "Whispering Angel". The LVMH subsidiary Moët Hennessy has acquired 50 percent of the shares in the winery from the investment group Alix AM PTE in Singapore and five percent from the founder and co-owner Sacha Lichine. The remaining shares will remain with him, and he will continue to be responsible for the operation.

Château d'Esclans has recently taken over a neighbouring winery, thereby expanding its vineyard area to around 75 hectares. Lichine, who comes from a family of wine merchants, acquired the estate at the beginning of 2000, invested massively and presented his flagship "Garrus" in 2006.
