Jérôme Legras, partner and managing director of the champagne house Legras & Haas, has taken a share in the German winery Alte Grafschaft in Kreuzwertheim (Franconia). According to French media reports, he is now an equal partner of the previous owner Norbert Spielmann. The eleven hectares of vineyards include the traditional Satzenberg site, which was planted as early as the 9th century and is one of the oldest vineyards in Germany.

Spielmann and his business partner at the time, Christoph Dinkel, had bought the vineyard, built in 1594, in 2010 from the Löwenstein princely family, who had previously farmed it for over 200 years. Spielmann's son Julius took over responsibility for the wines in 2020 and has since focused on biodiversity and biodynamics.
