A large fire at the Bordeaux trading company Sovex GrandsChâteaux in Carbon-Blanc near Bordeaux destroyed a hall with 3,000 square metres of storage space a few days ago. More than 60 firefighters and more than 15 emergency vehicles were on duty, local media reported. According to the TV station tv3, more than two million bottles of wine were destroyed or became unsaleable. People were not injured. The reason is said to have been a short circuit in the lighting of the hall. Sovex GrandsChâteaux has a total of 20,000 square metres of storage space and is a wholesaler of inexpensive and highly renowned Bordeaux châteaux.
