The new Eurovino trade fair in Karlsruhe attracted more than 300 exhibitors and over 2,000 trade visitors from Germany and other European countries to Karlsruhe last weekend. The promoters and organisers were satisfied with the result, as the feedback from exhibitors was consistently positive. "With the successful premiere event, we have succeeded in developing a platform from the industry for the industry, which offers a market-relevant range of exhibitors with a high level of attractiveness for trade visitors and plenty of space for high-quality exchange," said Dr Hermann Pilz, Chairman of the Eurovino Advisory Board. Trade visitors particularly praised the short distances, the personal atmosphere and the time for in-depth discussions.
"We are delighted that we have been able to establish a new concept for a wine trade fair on the market after four years of development. It impresses with new stand construction concepts and the embedding of digital formats such as the Eurovino Wine Guide and the Digital Wine Exchange based on it," said Britta Wirtz, Managing Director of Messe Karlsruhe.
The Fair Wine Award was also presented at the trade fair on Sunday. The international competition focusses on sustainable and environmentally friendly wines. A total of 18 wineries from Germany, Austria and Italy were honoured. The top award with 5 stars went to the Axel Bauer winery from Bühl (Baden) for the 2022 Viognier "Meisterstück". Weinbar Freundschaft from Berlin was honoured as "Wine Bar of the Year", while the PFANDtastico 2024 Primitivo from Riegel Bioweine received the award for "Most Sustainable Packaging".
The next Eurovino will take place on 9 and 10 March 2025.
