The Singaporean billionaire Perenco family has taken over the Bordeaux château La Tour de Mons in Margaux for about 60 million euros. The estate, which already existed in the 13th century but is not classified, currently has 58 ha of vineyards and had been owned by the French bank Crédit Agricole (CA) since 1995 and belonged to the portolio of its CA Grands Cru division.

The estate is the fifth Bordeaux château owned by the oil and gas-rich family, with an estimated fortune of around $4.4 billion. In 1989, their family office acquired Château Labégorce, later adding L'Abbé Gorsse De Gorsse, Labégorce Zédé and, in 2006, Chateau Marquis d'Alesme.
