The Austrian Federal Office for Viticulture in Eisenstadt with all its branches has suspended its work until further notice due to the corona virus. As a result, winegrowers are currently unable to obtain a test number for their new wines. A communication from the Office states

"Due to the federal government's requirements to combat the corona virus (COVID-19), operations at the Federal Office for Viticulture in Eisenstadt and its branches had to be suspended until further notice. Therefore, no samples can be accepted at present. At the moment it is not foreseeable when operations can be resumed

In the coming days, the officials want to discuss whether a simplified form of test numbering is possible or "in what other way the potential quality wines that cannot currently obtain a test number could be marketed".
