The two-star restaurant "Alchemist" in Copenhagen (Denmark) has won the Grand Prix for the world's "best wine list with more than 600 items" in the international " Star Wine List of the Year" competition.

"We think very carefully before we list anything, because being 'big' doesn't mean you don't focus," said Nina Højgaard Jensen, wine director at Alchemist, at the award ceremony.

"As the world of wine continues to expand and iconic bottles become rarer and more inaccessible, the work of 'Alchemist' can only be applauded. It offers an exceptional programme capable of providing such breadth and depth. The fair pricing deserves a special mention," said jury member Pascaline Lepeltier, explaining the award.

The other winners in the Grand Prix category are:

Skigaarden, Hemsedal, Norway
Aubergine, Cape Town, South Africa
Bentley Restaurant & Wine Bar, Sydney, Australia
Core by Clare Smyth, London, Great Britain
Momofuku Ko, New York, USA
Nobelhart & Schmutzig, Berlin, Germany
PM & Vänner, Växjö, Sweden
Savoy, Helsinki, Finland
Robuchon au Dôme, Macau, China

The wine list submitted for the competition must be a wine list that is accessible to guests in the restaurant or bar. Pop-up restaurants and private wine clubs are not eligible. This year's jury included Reeze Choi, third best sommelier in the world 2023 (ASI), Paz Levinson, best sommèliere in the Americas 2015 (ASI), Pascaline Lepeltier, best sommelière in France 2018 (ASI) and MS Ronan Sayburn, CEO of the Court of Master Sommeliers Europe.
