The French Ministry of Agriculture compensates up to 50 per cent of losses incurred by organic farms due to Russia's attack on Ukraine. In return, winegrowers must prove they have suffered a loss of gross operating profit and a 20 per cent deterioration in net cash flow in the financial year ended between 1 June 2022 and 31 May 2023. The average of the two financial years between 1 June 2018 and 31 May 2020 is used as a comparison.

Farms that were in conversion to organic management during the period in question can also apply for the aid. Applications must reach the authorities by 20 September. 60 million euros will be made available for this extraordinary compensation scheme.
