The TreTorri publishing house in Wiesbaden is taking over "responsibility for the content as well as the quality" of the culinary publishing houses Teubner and Hallwag. A press release from the publishing house states that the alliance was already contractually sealed in January 2021. The merger will be visible for the first time in TreTorri's autumn programme.

The Wiesbaden-based publishing house wants to develop "with its far-reaching access to industry, trade and politics" and Teubner and Hallwag "with its entire know-how and the large team of experts consisting of ecotrophologists, chefs and editors" into a "trio of culinary excellence".

Teubner and Hallwag belong to the Munich publishing group Gräfe&Unzer. Both houses are "symbols of culinary competence with independent philosophies". This should "remain so". Accordingly, TreTorri plans to develop new titles in the future and have them published by all three publishing houses, depending on their orientation. "An important concern for us is to create new synergies and to significantly advance the digital business in order to counter the trend of declining sales figures," said TreTorri founder and managing director Ralf Frenzel.
