Former French basketball star Tony Parker has raised one million euros within 45 minutes with a crowdfunding campaign to renovate his Château Saint-Laurent wine estate on the Rhône. The six-time NBA All-Star and ex-husband of actress Eva Longoria bought the vineyard near Avignon a year ago together with trader Saïd El Yousfi. In addition to 38 hectares of vineyards, the chateau also includes rooms for weddings, seminars and parties as well as twelve guest rooms. These need to be renovated, which is why Parker has advertised shares with an entry price of 10 euros via the crowdfunding platform Bricks, of which he is a partner. He guarantees one million euros. The investors are repaid the capital at the end of the contract with a fixed interest rate of seven per cent over four years.

In 45 minutes, 3,420 private investors raised one million euros. In a lottery, 250 of them will be drawn to take part in an evening with Tony Parker in May 2024. The money will also be used to modernise the production facilities. His goal is to switch to organic viticulture.
