Character. An important word in the traditional François Lurton winery. For it was the once young winemaker François who, together with his father, was looking for a vineyard for the whole family. A vineyard that would reflect their love of the land and Francophile joie de vivre. But how should all this be expressed by a single vineyard? So it comes as no surprise that this is only the beginning of a fascinating winegrowing story that began in the Mediterranean Languedoc, where very aromatic grapes thrive thanks to the many hours of sunshine. But the two gentlemen also found what they were looking for further west - in Gascony. There they even directly acquired several vineyards, which today make up the Domaine François Lurton. The heart, if you will, because for a long time now the family has not only carried their love of wine out into the whole world - they also grow wine in other regions of the country as well as in different countries around the world. Here in the south of France, however, it is grape varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot that know how to use the best conditions of the terroir for themselves and result in dynamic, fruity and refreshing white and rosé wines of the highest quality and thus conjure up a spring-like lightness in the glass all year round.
Diversity, greatness, excellence: the name François Lurton is the inspiration for superlatives like these. They form the basis of the company, which also sets new standards in the number of family members who live and carry the roots of yesteryear and bring them even deeper into the soil: a fabulous 19 winemakers stand up for Lurton's vinophile vision. Five generations, one family, one common passion. What began in 1650 has now grown into a global kaleidoscope, with grapes ripening from Bordelais to Languedoc to South Australia. The family runs more than 30 wineries worldwide. Each with its own philosophy. Because the family is not a uniformed clan. Quite the opposite. The members are similarly multi-faceted as the individual wine regions themselves are - and with this individual basis, each terroir is lived in its best possible vision. This is probably the great secret of success: that everyone pulls together while remaining completely themselves.
