Because the special thing about the wine and tourism fair: Here, wines from the German wine-growing regions can be tasted and purchased in direct conversation with the exhibitors. At the same time, they also have information on holidays in the winery in their luggage and the regional tourism organisations give insider tips on exciting holiday activities in the wine regions. In addition to the wine and tourism exhibitors, wine fans can look forward to a varied programme with themed WineWalks with the German wine royalty, casino feeling at the gaming table and digital wine glasses.
You don't live in or around Munich? No problem, all wines of the live event can also be experienced online! In order to continue to give wine fans throughout Germany the opportunity to taste German wines as part of the WeinTour, all 19 WineWalks are also available as online tastings. The associated mini-bottle packages consist of four 50ml tasting bottles each. The thematic online tastings will be hosted by playmaker and sommelier Christoph Friedrich, who has already provided the edutainment factor as co-host for the Virtual WineTours in recent years.
The online tastings including a mini-bottle package cost €9.90 plus shipping and will be available from 01 March at virtuelle.weintour.net.
On 25 and 26 March, the WeinTour invites you to a discovery tour through the 13 German wine regions in the Alte Kongresshalle at the Theresienwiese. Taste top-quality German wines and meet 80 winemakers in person. You can buy your favourite wines from the exhibitors at special prices and take them home with you. In addition, let the colourful accompanying programme guide you through the wine and tourism fair:
Ever been on a tour with a wine queen? During the guided WineWalks, up to 20 visitors equipped with headsets can explore the fair together with the German Wine Queens Katrin Lang, Luisa Böhme and Juliane Schäfer. The 19 thematic tours - equally suitable for beginners and wine connoisseurs - stop off at various different wineries and tourist exhibitors and introduce the stories behind the wine and the regions in conversation. Including tasting, of course!
A casino feeling is created at Christoph Friedrich's gaming table: here you can put your wine knowledge to the test in a blind tasting. Wine colour, ageing and region have to be tasted and then the bets are placed.
Tasting made easy: all glasses are equipped with a chip on which you can directly save your newly found favourite wines. You can then easily re-purchase the wines via the personalised e-mail with your wine favourites including the exhibitor contacts.
The WineTour will be open on Saturday, 25 March, from 12-19 hrs and on Sunday, 26 March, from 12-18 hrs. The day ticket costs 15 EUR and is available at www.weintour.net.
