How to remove red wine stains?
The dyes in red wine - the anthocyanins - are persistent.
Fresh red wine stains on textiles (table linen or clothing) should immediately be treated generously with White wine (do not drip, but rather soak), because this medium dissolves the red dyes best, as it is most similar to the red wine itself. Let the white wine soak in briefly and then dry the fabric with kitchen paper as much as the situation requires. The stained tablecloth or napkin or the affected garment should then be washed regularly as soon as possible; experience has shown that a special detergent additive is not necessary while the fabric is still damp.
Dried-in red wine st ains should be treated with a special stain remover or oxidising agent before washing
