The still little-known South Tyrolean wine village scores with its relaxed atmosphere and fine wines. Roland Brunner visited the most important wineries and presents them.
The village of St. Pauls has remained rather unknown compared to its neighbours Terlan, St. Michael-Eppan, Kaltern and Tramin. This is not due to the quality of the wines produced here, but rather to the fact that the clocks run a little differently here. There is a quiet, relaxed and, in a way, family atmosphere. People know each other and meet in the sales and tasting room of the local winery to chat over a white wine before lunch and a red after work. The local producers demonstrate with their products that this quiet pace benefits the wines produced here.
