The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) and the ProWein trade fair have launched an initiative to train and promote young wine experts.
The initiative is aimed at young wine professionals in the EU and the UK who are at the beginning of their careers and are active in the wine industry, including hospitality, wine tourism and distribution. Up to thirty young professionals from these sectors will be offered places on a tailor-made online WSET "Level 2 Award in Wines" course. Participants will receive online tuition, a package of 40 wines for home tasting and will take their final exam at the end of the course at ProWein 2021. They receive tickets for ProWein 2021 and take part in tastings under the guidance of leading producers. The WSET will also provide the group with ongoing mentorship.
All applications must be received by Monday 30 November. Participants will be informed by the end of December 2020. Further information about the WSET's Level 2 Award in Wines online course is available at www.wsetglobal.com.
